Come with me to Fastpitch Nation. All softball players who take softball seriously come here. The crack of the bat, the pop of a glove, the sounds of a tough practice. As I wind up to throw, the thick red seams of the ball are in perfect position to tumble through the air. After the ball has left my hand, I take a deep breath in. The scent of artificial turf and field dirt fill my nose. After my long practice, the water from my blue water bottle rushes through me. To me, these are the signs of comfort. I feel good, safe, and relaxed when I stand on the softball field.
